ClanCare Inc. ("ClanCare", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ClanCare mobile application and website at clancareapp.com. We provide family care coordination services for families managing the care of aging relatives. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device ("Personal Information").

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password, and profile picture.
  • Care Recipient Information: Name, age, medical conditions, medication schedules, and appointment details of the person receiving care. Note: You must have the legal right or explicit consent to share this information.
  • Payment Information: Credit card details and billing address (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store full credit card numbers).
  • Communications: Messages sent within the Family Messaging feature, and correspondence with our support team.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Data: IP address, operating system, browser type, device ID, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the app, and interaction logs.
  • Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., Meta Pixel) to track activity on our Service. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes, including to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the ClanCare Service.
  • Process transactions and send related information, including confirmations and receipts.
  • Send administrative messages, technical notices, updates, and security alerts.
  • Facilitate communication between family members within the app.
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests.

We do not sell your Personal Information. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With Family Members: Information you add about a care recipient is shared with other users you explicitly invite to your "Care Clan".
  • With Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., Stripe for payments, AWS for hosting, Meta for analytics). These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers located in the United States (AWS US-East). We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. This includes end-to-end encryption (TLS 1.2+) for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:
